About

Wandsworth Enterprise Month is part of the Council’s unique offer to the SME sector. The event was launched as Wandsworth Enterprise Week in 2014 and aims to foster enterprise in the borough.

The programme has now been extended to a month and will feature an array of informative events to help aspiring entrepreneurs and SMEs to start, develop and grow their business. It also feature Schools’ Week, which comprises a series of interactive workshops and talks by young entrepreneurs taking place in schools across the borough.

The majority of the events are free to attend, but due to the current climate we have had to introduce a nominal charge to some events to help cover costs and reduce no-shows. Numbers are limited so booking is advised and Wandsworth businesses and residents will be given priority.

“In Wandsworth we are incredibly proud to have one of London’s strongest and most dynamic SME economies and to be home to some of the country’s most exciting entrepreneurs. We believe that our businesses are the lifeblood of the local economy and in 2017 that ethos led to Wandsworth being recognised as the ‘Best All Round Small Business Friendly Borough’ in London by the London Councils and Federation of Small Business.

The Wandsworth Enterprise Month programme provides a range of support and advice to help aspiring entrepreneurs and businesses in the borough to flourish, develop and expand. So if you’re looking to grow your business or to get a fledgling enterprise off the ground then I encourage you to explore the exciting programme and book your sessions today”

Cllr Ravi Govindia Leader of Wandsworth Council

We care about our borough’s businesses

The mission of Wandsworth Council’s Economic Development Office (EDO) is to develop and deliver activity that supports the regeneration and economic development of our Boroughs to sustain successful local economies and places that can provide enterprise and employment opportunity, promote social mobility for residents, and create environments where people want to live, work and visit. The EDO leads the Council’s objective of building a prosperous and vibrant community.

In addition to organising Wandsworth Enterprise Month, an award-winning programme of events that brings together the borough’s businesses and entrepreneurs, the EDO works with partners including the Wandsworth Chamber of Commerce, Town Centre Stakeholders, Business Improvement Districts, the Nine Elms Vauxhall Partnership and other business organisations to:

  • Encourage investment in the Borough to meet the needs and aspirations of existing and future Wandsworth residents
  • Actively support the local economy, particularly small enterprises, and our town centres and other employment hubs
  • Link employers to local jobseekers through the Work Match service
  • Transform Nine Elms into a world class business and residential quarter
  • Promote aspiration, social mobility and economic wellbeing, focusing on the borough’s most deprived areas and communities
