This interactive workshop by author and creative enterprise consultant Alison Branagan will explore pricing and fees in the area of negotiation so that you can strike the best deal to improve your sales and profits.

Learn how to negotiate commissions and contracts, what to charge for consultancy, and how to sell creative products and services or artworks. Alison will explore the principles and tactics of negotiation and mind map eight crucial interrelated areas: time, money, resources, copyright, risk, power, credit, and goodwill.

This session will help you to develop a strategy as well as gain a fairer deal for yourself in terms of your arts practice, design business or being a creative freelancer.

 

 

 

 

 

Speakers

Alison Branagan

Alison Branagan is an author, visual arts consultant and an associate lecturer at Central Saint Martins. Over the past decade she has written several business start-up and enterprise books and has studied different approaches to teaching business theory and enterprise skills. She has also devised and facilitated many enterprise projects for universities and business support organisations, including the Entrepreneurship for Creatives Summer School at Central Saint Martins.

Alison has a master’s degree in Applied Art and Visual Culture, is an associate of the Institute of Consulting, a member of the Society of Authors and fellow of the Royal Society of Arts. She is also an associate of The Design Trust and has recently been a mentor for the Craft’s Council Hothouse Programme.
