During Wandsworth Schools’ Week we will be delivering a series of workshops, assemblies and talks by young and established entrepreneurs in schools across the borough. These events are to help develop enterprise and work-related learning for pupils in Year 7 to Year 13.

Booking is on a first come, first served basis, and only available to Wandsworth schools. Times can be amended slightly to accommodate your schedule. Places are limited to one Schools’ Week booking per school.

‘The secret of my success’ is a series of inspiring talks as part of the Wandsworth Schools’ Week programme. Successful Wandsworth-based entrepreneurs Arminder Singh Dhillon, Jemal Peters, and Mike Smith will share their stories about how they got started in business.

 

Jemal (Big J) Peters, founder of Big J’s Kitchen, shares his inspiring story of how he turned his back on street life to launch Big J’s Kitchen: a range of street food-inspired, tasty sauces stocked in high-end retailers such as Selfridges. Jemal, who has worked alongside celebrity chefs, uses some of the profits from his business to help young offenders and disadvantaged young people.

Jemal “Big J” Peters is the founder of Big J’s Kitchen, a successful range of street food-inspired tasty sauces. Described as the ‘true authentic taste of the streets and our culture on your plate’, his products are sold in delicatessens, butchers, the country’s biggest independent distributors and leading department store Selfridges.

Jemal will share the inspiring story behind his business: having turned his back on street life, he went on to launch his brand and secure investment from Dragons’ Den star Sarah Willingham, strike deals with the country’s top retailers, work with celebrity chefs, and release his own cookbooks.

Proof that you can turn your life around no matter what, at the heart of his business is the drive to support and inspire others who find themselves in a similar situation to where he began. A portion of the company’s profits fund Big J’s OR?; a project that helps young offenders and disadvantaged young people start their own businesses.
